Heel Lifts
Heel lifts are used for a variety of conservative orthopaedic issues. This includes reducing uneven leg lengths, functional scoliosis resulting from a leg length discrepancy and to reduce achillies tendon tension.
Heel lifts are an easy, discrete way to elevate a heel by fitting the lift right into an existing shoe. The shoe requires some depth to accommodate the lift. These lifts can also be glued onto a sandal or dress shoe that is open at the back. Various heights, sizes and colours are available. They offer the additional benefit of trial vs full modification of footwear. We can test out heights for comfort and correction as part of the treatment plan.
OKAPED supplies pre-made lifts of various heights and sizes and our Pedorthists can custom make any height and any size for the correction required. For larger lifts we also do custom footwear modifications.
